Hot workPort of HaminaKotka Ltd gives work and hot work permits for repair and construction work done inside the Port’s property. Work in other properties requires a permit from the owner of the property. When working in areas marked with an EX sign, extra care must be taken when choosing work equipment and methods. Hot work includes jobs that create sparks, where flame or other heat sources are used, and which might cause a fire. Permanent hot work spot is a special fire-reaction department reserved and approved for hot work, where hot work can be done in a secure way. Working inside a permanent hot work spot does not require a separate permit. Non-permanent hot work spot is a hot work spot that does not meet the requirements for permanent hot work spots. Work done in a non-permanent hot work spot always needs a written hot work permit. Non-permanent hot work spots can be used for hot work only when hot work in a permanent hot work spot is impossible. |
